Courage, something all of us have, in different measure :)
Let me begin with an understatement - "Our lives have become very complex". And, we live in a complex society with complex needs and complex challenges. The challenges we face are like huge mountains. Yet, we stand mute to the spectacle unfolding in front of us.
Values come alive here...
Have you come across an organization that has HUMANITY for one of its core values? I have.
They speak about this value at different forums – they have value ambassadors from the top leadership team – they promote the value through various channels – they lead initiatives within the community.
Be a Believer
In this world where everything is transitional, going around in endless spirals, we need a special breed of people; we will call them, The Believers. Are you a Believer? Do you have them in your organization, on your team or in your circle?
So, let’s start with who they are, these Believers. This is my version.
What do you see?
At a recent young manager's competition, a participant representing a leading automobile manufacturer, proudly showed us an aerial shot of one of his office campuses. It had large lawns, hundreds of trees, shaded paths with a few buildings dotting the vast green space.
While the audience studied the picture, he explained, "Our campus has a green cover of over 85% and it is one of its kind." He went on to talk about how the initiative came about, the funding, the people who laboured to convert an idea in to reality and his own contribution to the project.
